Over the past ½ year, I have been trying to experiment with CS4, and gather all the actions and reason, that caused it to crash. I want to begin with my specs: Windows Vista 64 with SP1, 4GB RAM, Intel Core Duo 2.66 (E8200) - overall a relatively strong machine.

Alot of crashes I experienced were caused by simple actions, like frame by frame animating, like for instance with same graphic symbol, by scewing it. Other times it was simply because of testing my scene (Enter button). And other times it was by scrolling through timeline by holding my mouse button on it. Those crashes ofcourse can't be predicted, and are "normal" type of crashes that might come once and while.

And now I might found the reason for why it might crash more often: If you have a shape or a symbol imported from another file, made in an older version of flash, eg. Flash8, CS4 does not like that for some reason, so the solution is to break apart that symbol, slightly optimizing it to be sure, and symbolizing it in CS4.

Sounds good, but still - I don't want my expectations to go too high up.

Any idea, when it is released?

we're in the final stages of testing.. I can't talk about it so I wouldn't be able to say when it's released, even if I knew. I expect it won't be too much longer though.

It sounds really good. I didn't know that you were a part of testing - that is awesome Smiley
I hope that they also fix the problem where a keyframe sometimes stays selelcted, graphic symbol, that doesn't get updated in the main scene after editing, and make it possible to use good old extension again. Not being able to customize my interface colors, annoys me as well - I miss the good old Macromedia Flash, that borrowed everything in the interface from Windows itself.

I am glad to hear that something is happening out there Cheesy
