There's a lot of good info in there, so keep reading. Everything you read keeps building on the info before it. Once you get to timing/spacing, you could try the ball bounce. But you'll need some equipment if you don't have any.
If you want to animate digitally, get a
tablet and a animation program like
Pencil or
Flash.
If you want to animate traditionally, you'll need to buy or build a
light box. You'll either have to scan your drawings into a video editing program or use a program like
iStopMotion with a camera.
And keep reading. At page 102 you'll learn about walks. It builds on the fundamentals you've been reading about. Try animating a few walk cycles while reading through this section. As you move on, there are more lessons that you can try that build on previous lessons. You can always go back and practice. Making a ball bounce can still be fun when you're way beyond that point. Just keep at it.
