I don't fully understand, do you want us to share pictures or talk about how we go about drawing in a certain style? Do you want to talk about the validity of a certain style? About which styles are dominant in the market?

I use my hand to hold the pencil then I move the pencil around and a line emits from the pencil onto the paper, as if it becomes one with it.

I work digitally, so everything that I do ends up as a series of high and low voltages used to flip a couple billion tiny switches.

I don't care much about having my own style. I tend to draw whatever is best for the medium and situation. But I do like drawing in a kind of simplified realistic way. I don't care about getting every detail and I don't want to exaggerate too much.

I gotta say I'm in a bit of a thing with Hienrich Kley and Egon Schiele's type of stuff. There's just something about the line work of some of their stuff that I REALLY like. But I can't put my finger on what it is. Guess you'll just have to do a little google work to find out what I mean. It'll be an adventure!!!

You can't explain style. Style occurs.

style can be explained by line weight/variation, color choice/tone, medium, character design, reoccurring elements and themes, etc etc etc

I don't think you can explain art for what it is with words. I think art is a lot more deeper than that.

Style does have a formula behind it. That's how they can have so many different animators on one project. In my drawing schooling our teachers tried to show us the importance of being able to breakdown a style so it's core principles can be understood and not just copied. Analyzing something doesn't make it less beautiful, the sum of it's parts is not equal to th whole and all.

Everyone who makes art has a style as far as you don't try to balantly copy someone else and I think a style is more of something that arent supposed to even be explained in words. Let the art speak for itsself. It's a personal reflection.
But what do I know.
edit: Okay, fine. Since you guys are obviously more experienced I bet you're right. Me being less experienced rely more on the "spiritual" part of art which I'm certain exists in the art.

I think you're all right. Style does occur naturally, almost spiritually as a reflection of one's self. But you can still break down all the aspects of it, and practice to change it. This is what you're expected to do in artschool.

Back to what style we like and why, I like Kruger's caricatures. He has the ability to stretch and blow the proportions and keep it realistic but still keep the vitality of the person he is doing.
On the other style thing that popped up. I think still is fueled but the spirit and personality. But is can later be broken down into a formula. This even happens in nature. Almost everything follows the fibonacci sequence or the golden ratio.
