That speed paint is pretty amazing dude, although I wish maybe there were some yellows or reds in the aurora borealis. And the abstract female face painting is mind-blowing as well. It felt like something about the face was off though, maybe it's just what Pieter said, but I was staring at it and kept thinking the left side of her face (our left) is skewed a little bit. But I can't tell for sure. The extra work in the painting is great too, like the wild shapes beneath her and her hair. Really eye-catching.

Agreed on all counts. If you add a few more colors and maybe a few more reflections on the ice, I will totally make this by backdrop. It's just too awesome.

Thank you everyone very kind words!

soooooooo I had to reinstall my computer and that sucked I hate viruses ... So I just messed around for like a hour painting a funny little plant and took the plant and started fliping and pushing and warping and the works and in the end came up with this which I dont think is anything important but it would be a cool way to come up with creatures for a game or something and throw thumbnails at the boss.

Wow, you really made it epic for sure..

now for some critiques, since you been so nice to me lately i thought id give you some "help" depending on how much my critiques actually helps Tongue

so first thing: Paintover

What i did was to improve the contrast, i guess i might have overdone the contrast.. but it makes the picture look more sci-fi'ish. On my screen your picture came out a tiny winy bit desaturated, i had the same problem when i had my samsung screen, it wasn't calibrated at all (Dont know if you remember how grey some of my paintings looked?).. i currently posses a dell which is perfectly calibrated.. i think its the screen artists at blizzard uses :O

i also TRIED to fix the perspective on the house.. it looked to me as the rooftiles in the middle of the building was pointing a little to the left, which gave the first floor roof the illusion of looking like a drape.. i gave it a try but i dont think i managed to do it any better Tongue

i also added some blue and green color variations in the shadows, i think there was too much of a purple overtone to the general picture.

the concept is fantastic, i just gave it some personal preferences i guess.

Hell ya thank you. Yeah I actully desaturated it beacuse of previous crits pieter has givin me in the past. It was alot more saturated I was just trying to make more grey tones but after looking at your paint over it does seem to pop more with the increased contrast. I feel dumb that i forgot the the glows of the lights but oh well ill just have to go in and do some more. i like what you did with the light in the door way. So that will be something Ill have to work on a bit more. Did you just throw overlays up on the space part to give it some of that nice saturated feels around the nebula?

I was pretty confused after seeing the floating "C" in the sky, until I realized that was a copyright symbol and your watermark was right next to it.  :O

Great picture, though. The colors and dimensions are simply dreamy.

Nice one =D
You might call this one done for now,  but I still think the roof tiles look a bit off. (they're working quite well in Espens crit I think)
your vanishing point is outside on screen left of the house, when the rooftiles has a vanishing point that is placed on the house instead of to the left.

The 1 point perspective in this pic might also be a style you're going for, so it doesn't have to be wrong.
But usually a 2 point perspective would make it look more beliveable. 3 point perspective if you want it to be 100% realistic

this is probably a bit extreme. But it just depends on the lenght of the "camera lens" you want in a picture.
There's no need to be too technical about it either (It's not necessary to place the 2 other point outside the picture frame. it just have to look somewhat right.

=P To geek that topic a little bit more, you're perspecitve could also be this flat and still be realistic. But that would mean the "cameraman" had to stay faaaar away from the scene and take it with a long Telephoto lens (zoomed in). http://www.twistedtreephoto.com/images/for%20articles/long%20landscape/church-and-lighthouse-large.jpg
(but in that case, your 1 point perspective had to be more subtle than what it is now)

Yeah those are great crits. Im still working alot with architecture and perspective points. I can do a great landscape and make things seem very distant but when I try and put man made structures in it the perspectives arnt up to par Ill have to do some more work with this the next time i am going to do a building.

Side note this is something I did tonight at work. Its based off of a paragraph bingles wrote in one of my journals on deviant art.

The small party of mythical creatures walked around the brightened cave in awe of their surroundings. Large light blue mushrooms glowed in the massive cave, magificantly tall as houses. Assorted coloured glowing orbs- faeires- zipping and fluttering around sparkling chrystals like fireflies in the dark. Beautiful glowing lillies of orange, pink, purple and red fill the cave's floor. Glowing green; all-stemed mushrooms jut up from the floor all around.

The painting is this!

this was another speed paint I did based around someones Idea over on deviantart. You can read it there if you want. This was part matte too which I dont really ever do but ive seen alot of people for guildwars use it so i figured i would give it a try maybe learn to use it even though I dont like style and the lack of learning to draw such things.

So here it is.
