What is the little guy in the middle? I was going to guess some kind of monkey just because of the ears.

Why thank you Relym much appreciated So as many of you know I am much (to say the least) better with blender than I am at drawing so to speed up character design I'm using Blender It is far easier for me to get Ideas out of my head with blender rather than anything else so here is an early render of a character. His mesh is extraordinarily clean too so woo hoo for that one.

That's actually not a bad idea, put your characters in 3D, that way you can pose them in different ways and get ideas on how to draw them from whatever perspective needed. Looks like a good start, do you have the body down too?

the body is still not exactly how I want it but I am tweaking it My major problem is with his feet and hands right now I just made something to make him look complete but I will be changing them Here is a picture And here is a picture of his backside

That is the direction I am thinking of taking the feet in. And as for the legs, Do you mean like Bitey's legs? If so I would love to do that but It is hard for me to visualize the movement and such of a biped with hind legs. Which could prove troublesome during animation. Quick Edit: Here is an Improved Hand Im working on. Second Quick Edit: Finished the hands and attached them also changed his color to make him a little more interesting any comments? Third Quick Edit: Textured and Finished up the eyes cause I knew it would be easy and add to the look.

Can you give your 3D models like fur and stuff real easy, or is it hard in blender? Not that the character you're making needs fur, I'm just wondering.
And I might suggest smaller palms for the hands. On your second quick edit there the hands seem like they'd look better with smaller palms.

It isn't hard to add fur but I haven't used it much so I don't know how hard it is to make a more realistic fur but I do know that blender is completely capable of amazing fur here is One of the projects from the blender foundation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcBECFLXmuc

It has more potential than most realize. Most people write it off because it is free and assume it is junk but it is amazing. Ive gotten into many an argument with people about it including my with my college teacher. Ive used both maya and 3DS max and find blender to be just as powerful You just have to get through the steep learning curve. Oh yeah and keep an eye out for "Sintel" The next blender open movie should be even more amazing than Big Buck Bunny well I got a little side tracked from my animation work but this is almost done and so far has only taken about an hour of my time up. I still have to do some texturing and add just a little bit more geometry. I changed a few things either out of laziness or necessity and i got the photo from flicker if you like this kind of stuff here is a link. http://www.flickr.com/photos/nickbianco/

Yeah Blender is really powerfull. Unfortunatly I've never used it much because it's just so damn different from the apps I'm used to.
Sweet texture and lighting on that last one, looks photorealistic!

So I was looking at your Blender stuff and suddenly wondered something. I downloaded Blender and went through this long tutorial process, but couldn't quite grasp it enough to do anything worth creating. You seem to have it down though. So why don't you just do your animation in Blender? It would appear Blender has enough potential for an animation outlet, and you have the skills with it that are necessary to make it happen.
