Yeah, whenever you talk or observe in any direction the head usually stretches out a bit.. especially when you're leaning forward. The fact that you took it to that place makes me sad. Have you ever taken me to express an ego ... I only have ever put my self as a student before a teacher this is why I dont like giving crits. My espy was only a freindly gesture like a slap on the back. Im shocked. Even if the face was to be tilted and stretched out like you want it the face would be turned and you would have a fencing mask type shape that would engulf the face if you lined it out in space not a cross.

yeah thanks man, its just that i didn't want the head + torso connection to be laid back and directed the same way... i wanted them to go in different directions so to speak. her left eye and ear sort of pointing towards the action. In your latest paint over both the face and the torso is facing the same direction, which i often have come a cross to hear is a "stiff" pose.. of course that's if the camera is actually headed directly at the character .. so that is not the case right now.
Lately i've been trying to give all the "pose points" subtle directions.. During my work on the blizzard portfolio i was so damned tired of showing all the limbs and what not.. that I'm trying to add more realism to my characters poses.. as forexample the way i hid the shoulder, you can see by the direction of the arm that its lower then her right shoulder. And that the left arm is resting on her right knee, proving that she has support to put her head in that direction..
I am not saying that im right in everything i do.. nothing is perfect... which i hate to say... BECAUSE I WANT IT TO BE.. maybe in 50 years..
I guess my real problem is that im too stubborn sometimes, and im always impatient with my work.. i always want to paint better and new things.
I appreciate the all the critiques, its just that when ive made up my mind.. its REALLY hard for me to.. in this case.. go back and work on it some more.

Im the exact same way. Thats why when I first put this up in the thread i wrote I know you already said complete. I didnt think you where going to go back and do anything more to it I just simply wanted it to be in your mind for future paintings.

Awesome! I know it's annoying getting crits on something you've abandonned, or plan on redoing. Nevertheless I tought the posing thing is interesting, I'm going to have a few people pose for me at school and see how it looks Your painting are getting better and better, I'm sure within a few years you'll have your own fanbase of a few thousand

On this painting my crits are minor again and one thats even just a prefrence. First off the length from the sholder to the bottom of the rib cage is usually the same length as the bottom of the rib cage to the bottom of the buttox. The crit that i think is more minor is that her head looks to large. here be my minor adjustments

Is her visor to high? Looks like it's only just covering her eyes. Lip bite = yes.
