I was sinking, now I'm sunk...

« on: July 17, 2009, 07:14:35 AM »

I spent another day running down these sterile streets,
heartbeat thumping to the thud of my feet,
slip down the little back ally, so damn discreet.
Who'd have thought, it isn't you I'll meet?

This is my Little-town Tobacconist, a whole new happy store
I've just got myself a better one, the old one was a bore.
You where my addiction, baby, I hung on by the door,
but you where just a passing phase. I just loved to break the law.

I slide up behind the counter, order the same hard-hitting smile
I breath it right down to my lungs, let it eat them up for a while.
I've got this sweet new dealer, and he has my mind on file
and you'll never work the same for me, out by at least a mile.

This is my Little-town Tobacconist, and it's got everything I need
I get my drink, my drugs, my vices sweetheart. Whiskey, up to weed.
And it may seem that I'm the puppet here, but the dealer is on the lead,
because I'm the one who's buying here, and I turn the tables with some speed.

I need to finish this, as I have only just started it. its not very good, but its an idea I've had for a while. I need to work on it, but any advice would be good. it reeeeeeeeeally needs some work.

Interesting. I'm still trying to determine if this is all a metaphor for something else, or if you're really just trying to make this person a druggie. Either way, this is really cool. Just work a little bit on getting the syllable counts to match.

John and Mary had never met before, much like two hummingbirds who had also never met before.
