My kangaroo broke down

« on: July 04, 2008, 12:37:27 PM »

Recently I've been attending a course to get my Cert II in 3d animation that is ran at my school by the AIE (Academy of Interactive Entertainment).
Today was the last day, and for the last week, 9 to 5 we worked in two groups to do our final animations.

Watch and comment if you wish Here

Our group did a Robot Western, and we worked quicker than I thought we would, finishing most of our work after just 2 days. The rest of the days our 5 man group spent rendering and doing special effects like putting in Depth of Field, which take a lot longer to render.

Dude, that's a lot better than I can do. Imagine what it would be like with sound. Oh, and what software did you guys use?

By the way, have you ever seen ReBoot?

3ds Max 2008 for most of it, Photoshop for textures and Windows Movie Maker to put all the Avi's together.

That happens to me as well. It only ever happens in Firefox. (What are you using?) I find just restarting Firefox helps.

Nice Job Cal, by the way. Sme nice camera work there. Smiley

Well that was a remarkably simple solution  Lips Sealed

I quite liked it. The walkcycle was a little stiff and the camera rotation at the end felt rather mechanical, but for the rest it was powowowow katchin blam boom bash.  Grin

That pretty awesome for just a week of work, well done. Grin
I think the depth of field helped alot, it would have look much plainer without it.
Did you use Biped for the animation or did you bone, rig and skin yourself?

THanks man, uh, we set up the bones system using Bones instead of a biped, I guess I prefer it that way in some ways, however it makes setting the bones angles harder. Then yes, we rigged, but there wasn't a need to do much messing with skin modifiers since it wasn't one mesh, it was lots of separate pieces.
