I wouldn't be worried about being able to read music so much, I for one play by ear, even though I had to learn both clefs in grade school but managed to completely forget everything.
As for your paint track, it's very echo-ey and tends to rattle a bit too much in places. Its not bad overall but some of the notes seem to glare with eachother and the ending is a bit sudden. Just keep at it and maybe try a higher-end program than M-paint, alot of the dudes who post paint tracks on you tube often have already dominated the higher-end stuff.
