Daredevil Extraordinair!

« on: October 19, 2009, 12:47:53 AM »

Okay I just wanted to write a poem so here it is
I actually just made this up inside the post topic page in fact as I am
writing this the poem does not exist!

Fools

The world a stage,
In which we host a play.
Our fates written lines,
from which we cannot stray.
Our lives a page,
from which our fate shines.

Not great but as mentioned before
just wrote it, also I didn't really edit it.
I kind of went for a Speed poem Idea.

This seems like a fun idea. It won't necessarily rhyme, but here goes:

The crack of a sharp tongue
Respected and feared
A double edged blade

Assault
Physically, it is a felony
Verbally, it is a sport
A volley of razors
Dodging, catching, throwing
Only one way to end it

Never underestimate
The power of a single word
A letter
The thought of a letter

You are well armed
Don't hurt yourself

(How'd I do?)

Ok, its been a while since I've writen anything. let the blarble ensue.

Lackluster, I've lost my sheen
Oh let the world just swallow me,
I'll be lost to you, and you'll move on
and I'll go mad and you'll be gone.
its not so bad, its not so good,
and though I always knew it would
come down to this, to loss and gain,
I've had you there to keep me sane.

Lingering Dead

My secrets, you will never know
Even if I told you, so
Blink, my friend, and I'll be gone
For I'm the god of Babylon

Something on this planet lacks
As though the world were made of wax
I'll leave here soon, but don't dismay,
For I'll come back another day

If you'll still live, I wouldn't know
Not that I would doubt it, though
I enjoyed your company, good host
But now shall leave the humble ghost

I'm choking on your excuses
as you force them down my throat.
Don't lie to me,
I've already seen what you've done.
Don't lie to me,
I've already seen who you are.
And I'm never folding again
like camp beds, like canvas chairs
and tents. Detritus of our little world
and all the ways we try to escape it.

Semantics. Everything else is empty,
and the rest is scarcely meaningful.
Why am I so lost in this? Release,
let go! And please,
Don't lie to me.
I've already seen how this goes.

Just put my poem through the blender of google translate and this is what happened:

Do you know the secret.
When.
Me and my friend Blink.
For I the Lord of Babylon.

No part of the world
If the new world.
This is a short time, let me go astray.
Back on Monday.

I do not know where you live.
I doubt that even more.
My work can be used.
But profits are now living spirit.

well the bit where it says
"but profits are now living spirit."

that is some crazy stuff because in todays world
that statement is almost true. CEO's and the type
would rather destroy lives than lose profit.

True. There are parts where it makes sense in a depressing sort of way.

LOL yeah pretty crazy how things work out.

Im gonna go for another
Not going to do any editing (I will go without using punctuation as well)
and that means no backspace
here I go!

Guiding life with arms of fortune
Swaying death with words of fate
Directing chaos with hands of hate
Influencing order with eyes of civility

Pushing nature aside for economic growth
Sliding humanity back for a quick buck
Pulling the hair of the earth to bend her to your will

You the everyday super villain
hiding your evil behind wal-mart

It kind of drops off here at the end.
But thats all I could think of
oh well
 Smiley

I gave it the Relym treatment (ran it through google)and here is what I got
English>Romanian
then
Romanian>English

"Direct life with arms Wealth
He shook his death with words of fate
Targeting chaos in the hands of hate
Influencing policy in sight of politeness

Nature Pushing aside economic growth
Humanity sliding rapidly back to one U.S. dollars
Hair pulled from the earth to bend it to your

You bastard everyday super
behind your evil Wal-Mart"

lol mine didnt turn out as wacky as yours.
Darn

Here's some advice about the translations: Try translating it through more than one language. This is what mine looked like:

English>Welsh>Afrikaans>Lithuanian>Chinese>Thai>English

About life with arms Landing
Swinging death with target words
Directed chaos in the hands of hate
Effects on class with the eyes of Courtesy

Press the nature aimed at economic development
Humanity fell again in search of quick money
Pull your hair in the world to bend to their

You bad SUPER LIFE
behind the evil Wal-Mart

Hmm not quite as wacky but I do enjoy reading it LOL.

Indeed. I liked it. There are still some deep lines in here.

I ventured out into the chill
Although it was against my will

My job was to remove the trash
In hopes that I might earn some cash

Before I made it to the bin,
My ears were torn by sudden din

When it stopped I looked around
You'd not believe what I had found

A thousand leprechauns appeared!
I'd never seen a thing so weird

They gathered in the trees and shrub
Assembled in some sort of club

They turned their heads to look at me
And suddenly I could not see

Impermanently was I blind,
But seeing things, I wouldn't mind

I heard one say, "What should we do?"
Another said, "I've got no clue."

As small and tiny as they are,
The high pitched voices were bizarre

"Discovered, we have never been,
Not by humans, nor their kin."

This third voice was quite new to me
It was commanding.... chief, maybe?

"Just throw him in the caravan,
And bind with ropes his feet and hands."

And so the rope was thusly tied
A gag and tossing, too, applied

I heard the wheels of wagons turn
Those of which I'd later learn

Were taking me to far away
I'll tell you more another day

(to be continued...)

Improv. Made it up as I went. Kind of nonsensical, but fun nonetheless.

EDIT:

To avoid double posting, here's the next one. It's quite sad.

The flower, growing silently above
Rumors tell it's nectar is a potion
That introduces you to truest love
It's nothing but silly superstition
Of course, it works for everybody else
But then again, nothing has worked for me
And while my starving heart starts to convulse
My dying wish is to have died with thee
Your death would pain me, please don't get me wrong
I'd never wish your you to be deceased
If only you would stoop to play along
You'd see that I am not an ugly beast
This night might be my last, my young songbird
I'm happy that your song is one I've heard

Nice Poems Relym.

Ive built my life around a thought,
created by the lies portrayed by the T.V.

My world crashed and for you I fought,
after all this you still found it easy to leave me.

Left all alone to tread and trot,
My own death I begin to plot.

Continued later maybe.
