Hi chaps,

My work has finally decided to purchase the full (and legitimate) Adobe Creative Suite - Design Premium package for me to use.
I have been surviving on Adobe 7 for the last few years and although I can use it for most things it is a little time consuming to get certain things done. Kinda like using a screwdriver to hammer in a nail. It works for the most part but its not very convenient.

So they have decided to get me the right tools for the job.

So I did a little price finding, and on Adobe's site it's coming up at £1700 but on some discount sites its like a measely $500, which is a massive difference.

My question is this...Should i evern trust these discount sites, and has anyone else bought CS4 package from these sites or any software for that matter?

http://www.discountmountainsoftware.com/adcrsu4depr.html
This price seems too good to be true, and if it is true, why would Adobe bother putting a price like £1700 on a product that is so cheap elsewhere?

Also, probably a dumb questions, but if I was to buy the Design Premium package in the US, would it work fine in the UK?
(Just wondering in case its like region specific or something...)

Thanks for reading guys

It may be the Education version they are selling. I purchased the Student edition since I'm a student so got it for literally half off the reg price. The only difference between the two that I know of is that the Student Ed. can only be put on one computer, but can still be used for making profit from. Nothing else is different. There are different licensing regs per country.

I'd be wary of those websites though unless you know exactly what it is you are getting for your money. It could be hacked garbage repackaged to look like new.

If you can find an educational discount place, and you have your old college ID, I'd say go through one of those.  Thats how I got my 9x12 Intuos4 for $450, and How I got Adobe CS4 Web standard for $250.  Some bookstores have the deal, and most colleges have the deal, if you can enroll for one credit or something.  Some online retailers also have educational discounts, though I do not know if they are as heavily discounted as the actual university stores.

Sorry, i should have replied to this.

My boss bought me full priced CS4 Master Collection, which is bascially everything. Its a multimedia designers dream.

All 2D packages, sound packages (bar audition), all video plackages and effects packages, and web packages.

I'm in digital heaven. I should really post my shit I'm working on, but most of it is graphic design.
