WDA #50 The Last creature of its kind.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello all I will be running this weeks WDA. This week will be creatures and we all love the odities of creatures. I belive inspite of this last WDA our creature WDA in the past had a very great turn out. Lets all explore the designs of eachothers minds!!!!
Deadline 25th November 2009 Starting NOW! This week's topic is "The last creature of its kind."
The outline: In this weeks WDA we will be searching the depths of our minds to create the last creature to walk its inhabitable relym. The creature can be of any decent. The one thing that must be noticible on the creature is scars showing that it has survived some large attack. Please try and imply some form of surroundings. Weather it be greatly defined or conceptual freindly. I dont want this to be too limited so lets stick with those two rules and see what kind of greatness spills out of us!
You can have one entry. The picture format can maximum be 1000x1000 or less. When the deadline is over a vote will be raised for you to vote for your favorite entry, I'm not the judge here, everyone is. CLEARLY DESIGNATE YOUR FINAL, if not you may not be taken to the voting. Please save your entry as, for example. "yourname_wda51.jpg". Don't use old drawings, and use more then 15 minutes on the picture. Wink
Ok get started on them sketchs lets make this week a week to remember!!!!

hmm i dunno about the "survived large attack" rule ^^ i mean there are several ways and reasons you could be the last of your kind, and many of them are without fights...but thats just me
i love the topic btw, hope i can hand in a scetch if i find a min to make one
thanks for hosting the wda travis!

I've been so out of the loop. Let's hope I can wrangle something up by the deadline.

Does it have to be fully or only just barely alive? Edit: here's a little idea I just came up with ^^ (beware, VERY rough sketch)

We can assume that there could have been a creature that survived on complete rogue abilitys and was never even scratched but what i have always felt about WDA's were that they were to be taken on like a concept job. I have tried to make the topic very broad but there should still be some underlineing points to the topic that brings all of our work similarly together. Hense why I have made the rule - Has survived some sort of vicious attack. This does not mean that the creature has to be dieing if you do not want that. I mean If you think about a last creature it could have been extremly strong but was ablitereated by the forces of nature ... commets, waves, just flat out starvation. You could make a very large scar across the rib cage. Maybe the tail was torn off ... broken or mammed. There are endless possiblites and this is your job as an artist and seeker of the imagination to give us a story as an artist.

Eh, there are several other reasons as to why an animal could be the last of its kind. An epic physical survival doesn't necessarily have to be the case. I might drop out of this one.

Thats disapointing to hear. As I stated before there are plenty of other ways a creature could be the last of its kind without being scard but this is what i chose to bring all our work together in a simliar view.

That is what I wanted to convey I thought about putting a diminishing Forest with tractors and such in the back but I lack the skill for even a lawn mower. But I am glad you caught my message.
