Satoshi Kon is a weird one.  I've both hated and loved his work, but one thing I can't fault him for is his visual mastery.  I just hope this story doesn't drown in the deep end of the pool like Paprika did.

A kid movie is quite a turn for him, though.  Looks very exciting.  Smiley

Looks like the studio has picked up the pieces with a new crew at the helm since Kon's untimely death & will be completing the film. Nice images, and a different feel than the other films. I still think Millennium Actress is one of the most beautiful films out there, with several story lines being told simultaneously behind each visual scene.

Wow, I feel out of the loop -- I loved Paprika, and was fascinated by the images from the new film, and THEN realized:

a.) how old the original thread was, and
b.) that Kon has passed away...

He really had talent -- I'll be interested to see how the film turns out.
