~Prologue.~

 Carlos laughed heartily as another huge jet tore through the sky above them, drowning out the car radio, ripping apart the thick, hot air and unleashing a wind that whipped through the arid grass that surrounded their parked car. He was like this every summer, thought Ella as she tried to get more comfortable on the hood of the car. He grinned at her, wrapped an arm around her slender waste and drew her closer. She wouldn't have minded, but the scorching metal was burning her legs through her flimsy summer dress. And she could not stand to spend the hottest part of a hot day watching planes prepare for landing overhead. Still, Carlos pulled her closer, smiling, leaning it to kiss her. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, returning his kiss in the scorching heat. She pulled away for breath, and he sat beside her, lovingly brushing from her face a few coils of flaxen hair that had escaped her scrunchy.

 She smiled softly and leaned in for another kiss, this time planting both her hands firmly on the hood of the car behind him. He let out a short, stifled laugh as she gently pressed him down till he lay on the hood, his deep brown eyes taking her in as she lent over him. With a slight smirk, Ella pressed her lips against his cheek, and whispered "I'm going to take a walk." And with that she slid down the front of the car, landing with both feet solidly on the ground and a bright grin plastered across her face. She was already setting off into the dry meadow by the time Carlos had pulled himself upright. He laughed in bewilderment as he watched the svelte figure duck and weave through the long grass, disturbing insects and dandelion seeds alike. He ran a hand through his thick, dark hair, cast one last glance at Ella's retreating figure before it was swallowed by the shimmering heat, then grabbed another beer from the cooler beside the car and settled back down to watch the clouds.




I'll continue this at some point maybe. Take more about what Ella is getting up to... maybe make a story around it all.
I also have a story idea, but I'm not too sure about it. Its big.

Anyway, Woo, that was excellent. May I ask where it takes place?

I'm not entirely sure, its defiantly in the back roads outside of a city, and not too far from an airport. Most likely on abandoned industrial land. But I can't tell if it fits America of England more. I was thinking England if I'm going to expand the story. Mostly because I know more about England than America, but I have an idea of the sort of friends and the kind of people Carlos and Ella would hang out with. And Ella's style more fits the UK. Maybe just outside London of Manchester.

The setting and the names seem to fit the southwest of the U.S. Not to be racist or anything, but "Carlos" is probably more common here than "Carl" is.

I did get a very American feel from it. I don't know the subtlties of the culture well enough to write a whole story, but I guess thats where these characters seem to fit.
