Hi... that it's the reason why I couldn't write in this forum this two last years...
I'm working in this studio... animating VFX. Really, the water and the fire it's a crazy thing to animated, and like the studio it's little one man have to do too much things... when you think that the end it's close... then... you find a new shot to drawn.
My credits here, are just the VFX and Ink&paint... of course I did more things, like everyone in the studio... we were very few, just four animators, also, we had to do a lot things.
I hope that you enjoyed, because we are now selected for the "Goya's film festival". It's a great film spanish festival... win this prize it's like the Oscar for the USA... o the Berlinare for the Germans, or the Cesar, for France... or... I think that you take the idea. Smiley
So, I wait your comments and really I hope you all like it

Welcome (back) to the forum Acayala! That short film is incredible.. was it done this year? It's stunning in so many ways, the visual style, the backgrounds and animation are just amazing. I really like the water (shoreline) and fire (lamp).. you did those? Very nicely animated Smiley
Best of luck in Goya's film festival and most of all, congratulations on being part of that team!

That was a great film. The animating was very crisp and the special effects were awesome.  It felt like the flame in the lamp was a little exaggerated, but it worked great with the scene so I didn't mind. Nice work.  Smiley

Thanks for my part... Smiley
So, Snowman, I think like you, the fire of the lamp it's too much baroque. The firsts versions that I did was very easy, but unfortunately, for me, the director wanted this other version. In general, the target was the animation more baroque and a lot details. For the water, in the begining, the art director told me that I had to take like a reference the film, "Asterix and the Vikings". Also, to the end, I'm not happy in any shots because the postproduction wasn't like I thought. But, that was not my bussnes. Sad
I learn in this production that many times it's very hard accept the decisions of the boss if you don't think like him but he is like a friend... (normally in my another jobs the companys were very bigs, and it's easy don't take the work like something personal, but this time, the studio was very littlel and almoust all people were friends from my student time).
But to the end you all can watch the short film, and it's very cool if you enjoyed. Smiley
Our referents to do the film was the classics by Disney, of course, Miyazaky and a lot of the french animation shortfilms by "Gobelins"
What happen with the childrens? Ehhhh!!! Ohhh!!! Look there... it's a flying pig, it's amanzing :-P look at... :-P
No, seriosly, everybody ask the same thing, like is logical. When we watched the animatic for first time all team ask for the childrens and about the pirats. But the director told that was necessary for the simbolic story that he was telling. The film it's inspired by a poesy by Ruben Dario, and the director wanted to do a visual poesy.  I think to the end it's very nice. And about the story then... so, it's poesy and everyone find diferents things. That it's great.  Grin
