I was pretty impressed by the render of Napoleon in this video. Definitely watch in high definition to appreciate the complexity.

When it zooms in close to his face the details really come out, like subtle wrinkles, pores on his skin, and even a very slight quivering of his lips before he speaks.

I made this one myself.  I know it doesn't look like much, but i didn't use any premade tools to create this.  I mapped out every pixel in the picture as if it were a 3-D vector and rendered both spheres as if a light were shining down on them using the phong illumination model.
