Everything old is new again

WWW
« on: February 24, 2010, 04:14:18 AM »

So for some reason I've decided I want to start pursuing my art again after a two year hiatus induced by schoolwork and working on a few film projects.

Those who remember me from the old forum and saw any of my "art" knows that it was mostly illustration / contour stuff. I had big problems when It came to rendering realistically and making my poses more energetic. It's safe to say I still have those problems.

I wanted to post here because I am truly and utterly humbled by the work that gets put up here. There are really some stunningly good artists pimping their stuff in this forum. With that said, I hope to learn and approach my road to recovery with a hungry heart and open mind!

So i accidentally saved the psd at low res on the previous pic >.< Time for a new one!

I like the rough of this one better than the robot already, i'm completely daunted and unsure how to tackle the details however.

Welcome home Antiseal! I remember ya! Good to see you picked up the pencil again. Smiley

I'm going to have to pull the pencil outta my ass at some point and get one of these sketchbook threads on the go. Apart from an art pad, pencils, erasers and skill, I'm mostly lacking time. one day though.

But good to have you back! Looking forward to seeing your stuff.

I do love your robot sooo very much.
You are obviously aeons of painting experience ahead of me but my one word of advice as an onlooker is that your subjects tend to feel 2d and like they were made separately and pasted on to the background.
Great work I am loving your Sci-fi settings really cool stuff can't wait to see some more!

I like your style. Cartoony, but not unsatisfactory. Smiley
