Tomorrow at 3 PM pacific time, I'm leaving for military processing. I signed the contract to join the United States Navy over a year ago, and that time has finally come for me to go to boot camp. It's going to be about 2 months, and after that I'm going to school for the job I'm doing (intelligence specialist) which will take about 3 months. Luckily, I'll have internet access at that point. But I'm not going to be able to go online at boot camp, so I won't be able to talk to you guys for 2 months.  This is going to be the longest I've ever been away from Brackenwood (even when I don't post, I'm usually lurking!). I'll miss you guys, but I'll be back! |

Holy shit, Travis. I had no idea you were DEP, too. Good luck with Boot Camp, and hopefully we'll see the bigger, faster, stronger you at the end of those 9 weeks. It's great to hear you're going in, but it's sad to see you gone for so long. It's amazing that you're stepping up and taking the responsibility that comes with a position in the armed services.

I think my job is out at sea half the time, and stationed at a base the other half. I'm trying to get stationed in San Diego since it's reasonable close to home and I love it there (I was born there).
That would be awesome if I somehow managed to see you! What job are you doing?

Awesome. I have a friend who's in the marines, and he's going to be an infantryman. He left for boot camp in june, so hopefully I'll hear from him eventually. I hope you enjoy yourself.  I'm signing off now. Goodbye, beloved Brackenwood! |
