So I just started playing Mass Effect 2 today and one of my friends was telling me some interesting stuff about it so I decided to look up the Mass Effect wiki and on there I found this.
A mass effect movie made by legendary pictures the people who made Wacthmen, The Dark Knight, 300
Sweet.

As a very avid fan of Mass Effect, I have a horrible sinking feeling about this.

Mass Effect is an interactive experience, and should remain so. And in the cannon of the story Wrex dies! I DO NOT WANT THAT. I WORKED TOO HARD TO LET HIM DIE. It should be kept as a game, because it becomes an amazing personal experience when you get to control the conversations, the personality, the priorities and the outcome. You lose that when translated to a movie. And there are so many little extras just hidden away that you only find when you take the time to look, like in Mass Effect 2 when you try to mine minerals on Uranus. Or when Legion does the robot. Or Amanda's "Dat Ass" Pose.

What I don't get is that they always need to use the material present in the game.
Why not make a movie about a different bunch of people in the same fictional universe?
That would attract new folks to the game, and wouldn't piss off the fans of the series.
And you'dd have a lot more freedom story wise that way.

Ah well, I'm going to borrow both of them from a friend tomorrow and play trough them.
Everyone says it's a great game, and damnit it just LOOKS so good.

Who knows where madness lies?

Does it say it uses elements of the game's storyline? Because that would suck. The in-universe independent-story film would make a lot more sense.
