Hey all. I think nobody would remember me, but I've come here at one time or another thinking I'd get really deep into full hand drawn animation, but never actually did it.

I'm a pixel art animator, that's what I've been for a while but I want to change it, that's why I entered bill Plympton's global jam

We take Bill's Guard Dog short

everyone remakes a shot, then we put all the shots together and see what it looks like :p

The shot I took is one with just the dog, it's all about his expression and ideally I'd like to do something that looks like Philip Burke in movement

http://shop.lbmadison.com/home.php I like his sense of color, and I figure something like it can be done in vector brushtrokes
it's a way to pressure myself into having results, and considering it's just one shot I think I have time to learn. I usually go for crits to my pixelart forum (pixelation) but this is not pixelart and honestly I dont think they know animation well enough to help me, so my best bet was the Bitey forums (...if you know any good crit communities for animation please do tell!)

Right now this is all I have but I hope I can post some tests here and get some good old Critique n Comment =)

The drawing is good. I too like all the colors. The human-esque features give it a creepy sense - in a good way. So I hope that's what you were going for.  Grin

I don't have any animations yet, but I have ideas. I also have Flash and Toon Boom - so, we'll see what happens with that.
