I have a new (2nd) Manannan cartoon done.

It's submitted for approval (to the client) so it's not on my youtube channel yet, but it's here - as a low-res version for those that want to see it:

http://www.gmanx.com/album/Manx/Mann_Ep02_SML-100917-01.wmv

It's in the Manx language, but you should be able to follow it. The big blue guy with the tricked out hummer is the 'Buggane', the Manx version of the bogeyman. I thought I'd give him a little more character.. Smiley

As always, the audio dub was the trickiest part, but it came together in the end...

wow man! Thanks for the credit, I have no idea what I did to deserve that though  Shocked
You're not going to believe this but I wanted to learn Manx Gaelic years ago but there were absolutely no resources available. An old man in his 70s, who lived in my neighbourhood at the time, told me that he was in the last group of school children on the Isle of Man who were taught Manx as part of the curriculum and that now, sadly the language is as good as dead. It's so good to hear it being spoken in conversation. I'd love to see a written translation of Manannan, out of curiosity.

oh, and nice work on the art and animation! Congrats Smiley

The Bitey academy put me back in touch with Flash (I bought all chapters so far) and really made these shorts possible, so thanks for that! I'd used Flash when it was first out, and did OK, but never thought it would be capable of decent animation, let alone what you've done with it!

Re: Manx language - the fact that you've looked into it is spooky indeed! I'll be releasing this with english subtitles once it's been signed off - and it will go on the official 'Gaelgtube' channel with episode 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llP8kJ_XhW8&feature=channel

There's a few people working to keep the language alive - and it's experiencing a resurgence at the moment, which is good. I don't speak it properly yet, but I'm learning, and doing my small bit as an animator. These shorts are meant as a light-hearted irreverent introduction for kids and adults alike.

I've even subtitled a scots gaelic version for a showpiece in a regional film competition for the BBC.

I trained as a trad animator, producing stuff like the following, on which I did a couple of scenes - includng the sex scene (possibly NSFW) and all backgrounds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAwJJuUQpOY
