I haven't found any threads about running (not that I looked very hard), so I thought I'd open one up. For discussion on any kind of long distance, I suppose, but primarily the marathon and half marathon.

I suppose I'll start off by asking this question: If you've done any marathons or half marathons, where and when was it? Did you enjoy it?

I just ran one in San Diego today and it was fantastic.

If I trained for a marathon, there'd be nothing left of me...I already consume twice as much food as the average individual and am short on body fat (not an actual blessing when you're constantly famished, believe me argh!)

Someone in my office use to run them, but he needs surgery on his Achilles and won't even after (he says to be smarter than him; never skip stretching & take care of your knees  Tongue)

I did way better than I thought I would. I was aiming for 2 hours flat, and I got 1:38:57. But yeah, long distance training is just hell. After a while, it's not so much about cardio or fatigue as it is just time-consuming. Like I said, 13 miles usually takes around 2 hours for me, which seems like FOREVER when you're running.
