It hurts so good!

I've barely set foot in here for ages!  For those of you who are new, I joined the forum waaaaay back, getting involved with the many illustration and animation competitions that were around at the time.  Even run some comps myself for a while.  But eventually life caught up with me and I started buckling down on my thesis film, and I've mostly stayed in the shadows since then.

Last year I got my first animation gig at Rhythm & Hues.  It's been amazing and, at times, really difficult, but I feel like I've learned a lot.  My contract is going to be up in November and a lot of anim is going to be let go, so I made new reel to try and get a jump on things.

Demo Reel 2011.  Crits welcome if you have any!

That was awesome Red. I remember your sketches of the toad man along time ago, so it was nice seeing him in action.

Great demo reel! Did you do the character design for the fishing bit in the beginning?

You seem to have a great understanding of the movement of the characters and timing. You should have no problem getting a position after your contract ends.

Good luck!

Very nice! I love the stilt shoes & how they're effortlessly worked into the movements. The gestures & timing all seem to flow well. I'm sure you'll be fine! Wink

Thank you all for the kind words!  Although "a job" would be fortuitous (especially in this economy...  yeesh), I'm hoping to gain access to a full-CG studio if possible.  I think Blue Sky and Sony Animation are near my ability, at least for their equivalent entry level.  I might have a shot at them if I can apply in time.

Love it Red. I see no reason why someone would not jump at the chance of hiring you.
Use me for a reference, I will explain the pear to them..... that should guarantee you being hired!  Bingbong
