I have always wanted to go to Australia. I'm not sure if I get to decide myself, but that would have been my first choice. But it is starting to dawn on me that I do not like heat. I do not work well in high temperatures, and I am not a massive fan of swimming. And I can get sunburn in an English winter. At high temperatures I begin to melt and my lungs decide to shrink.
Also, Australia seems primarily inhabited by things specifically designed to kill you.
I guess what I really wanted was New Zealand, but apparently that was not on the books. :b

Australia isn't full of things trying to kill you. Just stay out of the lebanese suburbs. And its not always terribly hot, if heat is a problem just avoid decemberish and you should be fine.

I think Colorado is an excellent place to visit. Cool (but often sunny) weather, awesome mountains and rivers to look at, and from what I can tell, the citizens are nice. I don't know why that's relevant, as you probably won't be visiting that one state I guessed, but I thought it seemed only fair to say it anyway.

Canada's beautiful, but all of the nights I've spent there are even colder than those in England.
I'll be in and near Brisbane in January; I'll try to avoid all of the things waiting to kill me. 
Any suggestions on sights to see while there?

Two members of my family have been randomly attacked in the street and been seriously injured, which is not good. And two more are possibly facing charges for things which are not their fault. Also, my dad thinks he might lose his job. =/
