I finished watching this film for the first time about 10 min ago. It's a Japanese anime Manga feature that blew me away in every respect. A friend recommended it to me but warned me that it gets very weird. I found personally that it wasn't weird if you understood -or at least could taste- the symbolism, which ranges throughout from subtle to obvious. I found the style of characters to be just perfect, the background artwork absolutely jaw-dropping, the action sequences stunning, the story and direction brilliant and this incredible tale slams hard into my #1 slot. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Tekkon Kinkreet . (click image for wikipedia)

Wish I had anything to add, but YES, I agree on every point. It was just so good.

Hmm, I need to see this one when I get the chance, I was intially put off by some bad reviews it got. But it's better sometimes not to put too much faith in critics.

The japanese are great at intergrating 3D and 2D together, I suppose it's because they look at it the opposite way as the U.S. Does, they rely more on the 2D side and sprinkle in some 3D and we rely more on the 3D side and sprinkle in some 2D.

I never got a chance to watch the English version, but I'm weird in that way. I enjoy watching films with only guessing what's happened through what I've seen and how they sound, this one took me off course. It was really pretty and allot deeper than this one I saw a few hours beforehand called "Aachi and Ssipak" (7min fight scene) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVClhvo0GLo&feature=related

Aah, I love Tekkon Kinkreet. I rented it last year, and I have to say, it's a great anime.

You can find the English version of the comic it's based on: "Black and White" by Taiyo Matsumoto. The series is a long, meandering version of the Tekkon Kinkreet story with all the brilliant things you loved about the anime in full effect.

the image must be uploaded to the web somewhere.. then you can just use the img tags. For example typing this into your post: [img]http://www.biteycastle.com/images/promo/banner_BC_300x100.jpg[/img] embeds this image: didnt i tell u about it? im sure i did and then you ignored me and then u found it again probably Possibly It was Ryan who told me about it.
