You guessed it! My art! I am completely open to criticism, good or bad! But I suggest you don't expect so much 'cos this stuff is produced by a 14 year old. The coloured ones were done in Corel Painter Essentials 3. I'm getting used to digital painting.

First up:

You know when you have a bad drawing day and nothing turns out how you expected? Well this is the best result of one of those days.

I'm not going into a big explanation about all these so just enjoy. Smiley

And the final, which should've been the first, is the first picture I did with my Tablet (WACOM Intuos3 A5). I'm still not completely used to it.

Well that's it for now. I'll keep you upto date (if you want Grin ). Any constructive criticism you have is okay, just don't be mean.  Wink

Thanks. Yeah I caused quite an argument over it. Anyway I'm doing the background and here is what I have so far:

Not too happy about the puddle but if you don't concentrate on it it looks better. Rock is hard texture, I'm new to painting.  Cry

And here is my Avatar. If I am ever going to make a Flash series it'd be about this character. Of course he has a name, it's Brethor. Sounds very LotR-ish which is why I named my LotRO character Brethor!  Wink (Currently a WiP)

So heres to progress so far. I don't have photoshop and barely know how to use this programme so I can't add the darkness effect I want, but I can get someone to do that for me when it's done.

If you have any suggestions of how to improve, then by all means tell me. If you wanna see the progress I've made from start to where I am now (which is ALOT) then you can check it out here.

if you want to improve the only way is to analyze, study, draw and scetch like a maniac...
look at pictures, drawings, go outside try to understand how lightning works, carry a notepad with you and write down what you found out so you can read through that later on and try to get that into your paintings and into your scetches...

for the beginning that tutorial is one of the best to give you a little introduction on lightning, shadows, rendering etc
http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm
it helped me a lot and im still reading through it recently...

some crits on your pic....its quite flat...the colours arent that bad but since you stick too much to your lineart youre not concentrating on forming the volumes by using darks and lights...
try to get rid of the lines...or paint on a layer above it...it takes a bit practice but you will see what i mean..
hmm for the colours i would say try not to go that saturated...maximum 60-80% should do it...the shadows and lights even less...make sure that the midtone has the highest saturation

thats enough for now id say...

ah and btw with wich program do you draw?

Well I've been in Holland the last week and I did a few sketchles that need uploading. Once I scan them you can see them, if you're lucky!  Wink
