Anyway, another setting I am not used to, (not sure if its a hinderance or not), is that when I post a reply it redirects me back to the current forum index section, rahter than to the topic I posted in. I think I would prefer to be redirected to the topic I was posting in, cuz I tend to check for typos not when I am typingm but after.
You can change that, goto Profile > Look and layout prefs and click the "Return to topics after posting by default" checkbox. I'm not really having a problem with the contrasts, it looked a bit washed out at first but now that I'm used to it I quite like it.

I agree with Jugglez, the text color does take a bit of effort to read. Hello old friends! Color test

I think part of the issue with the readability is the width of the posts. Naturally people are only good with 10-20 words per line, and we've got more like 60-80 (on my screen, anyway. I don't know if this is a fluid design or ...?)
Perhaps the font-size could be bumped up a smidge?

I think you should use if possible a nice green or bright blue for new posts, news headlines or anything hot off the press. One thing that comes to mind is making your buttons or attractions look or at least have a nice wet 3 tone cell shading to them. Like the way you do your characters eyes Adam. I can't really explain it well nor am I aware of how far you can go with customizing the skin of this forum, but I think you should make the theme more organic looking. Maybe some of those fancy vines to scroll along with the thread window! Ya dig? [EDIT] I really like the night shades of blue and the gradient at the top. I'm just talking about putting a few window boxes around for that beaming moon energy! [/EDIT] I dig real big! Thanks for the suggestions man.. I most definitely will be customising teh theme further with butttttons and spiffing graphicks! All in good (albeit slow) time

Perhaps the background colour of the quotes is a little bright? I dunno, it's kinda hard to read the text in it.

Man, talk about jumping through hoops! Finally.
On the topic of the "look", I miss the more saturated nocturne of the old forum and the contrast. Text is a wee bit hard on the eyes, especially this slate blue on white I'm looking at now while typing this. Maybe font size can be upped a few points too. Otherwise, Huzzah! A new look!

Well some people tought the text wasn't contrasty enough so Adam upped the contrast, you can't please everyone unfortunatly. Fonts size can easily be adjusted in your browser (crtl + +/- or ctrl + scrollwheel). The forum supports multiple skins, so who knows, we might make a "classic" skin one day.
