@Complex: I'm not quite sure why, I like your sketches better when they're done with a slightly brown pen, as the ones on the previous page. You're pretty good.

I don't know where the "Finished Art" thread went and I don't feel like starting my own thread, so here's a comic I just finished:

Okay, so I finally decided to try my hand a Photoshop painting. I've never made an image from the ground up using photoshop, so I was very intimidated. I also thought there were a lot of rules. I was pleasantly surprised and I feel really good about this self portrait. All freehand but based off a reference photo. Thoughts?

It looks really good to me too, SeeHaus! Really captures the expression well.

I'm not as big a fan of the "dead" portrait - though I can't put a finger on why exactly. A bit too many black outlines, maybe.

@Katatafisch, I quite like the green mushrooms & the octopus thing at the end.

I posted this comic in my "artwork" thread, but since nobody's replying there, I'll post it here too.

(but I think I'll wait until the price goes down.)

Esn, I love your comic. I think I might have seen something like that before, but even so it's great. The nerdy guy looks really funny. I agree that the dead pic isn't so good, the black lines come from the fact that it was done with pencil. It was just a warm up for the much better one I did yesterday! Smiley

I'd have to say the splash is very well done, but one thing that gets me is the cartoony feel of the viking.  Not sure if you were going for that, but IMO, I think it would feel more life-like if some anatomy was more elaborate.  The pectorals and abs kind of throw his figure off a bit, maybe a little touch up in there and it'll look substantially better.

Also, didn't know if you knew about double-posting  Wink (Edit button, my man)

Well the whole thing is supposed to be cartoony.... I guess that it could look cooler if the viking was more realistic but the other stuff mistakenly came out looking realistic when I meant for cartoony... ha ha... I might try that, a realistic viking. The double post, well, gimme a break it's been 2 days.  Embarrassed

This is my first post on here for over a year. It's good to be back.

Anyway, I drew an alien (a Kraozikdas, to be precise) then scanned it in (the one on the far-left is the scan, and it's twice as large as the original drawing) drew over the image in Inkscape (centre-left) then decided to draw a business suit on him (centre-right and right).

Unfortunately I had to settle with giving him shorts rather than proper trousers, and his strange feet meant that he couldn't wear sensible shoes, but I think he still looks pretty good in a suit. Then again, most people look pretty good in a suit.

Edit: The image's shrunk a bit, for some reason. Right-click on the image and click "View image" to see it in its full glory (its not actually that much bigger, but the lines are less fuzzy).

The sketch is pretty cool but when you added the shirt it looked flat. It looks flat because the costume isn't folded anywhere.
