This isn't a tutorial. Just passing a long experience of confusion with a simple solution
Do you have a website of your own?
Do you have FLV movies that you want to play on your site

, but can't play them on your browser?
Did you know that you may have to contact your provider (in my case, Brinkster) and ask customer support to make them permissiable to view online?
They have to change your CHMOD permissions. I didn't know this until yesterday, and it was a big relief for me to know how to do this. If you have ever wanted to play an FLV on your own website but never could figure out why you couldn't see it, it's because the permissions to view the FLV may not be set.
Just a friendly tip.
My CHMOD for my directories that need permission are:
774
if you don't understand CHMOD (and I don't really understand it either), look it up to understand what these 3 numbers mean. They have to do with permissions of viewing the file in question. This seems to be a problem for me only with FLV files at the moment. Not entirely clear as to why this is necessary.
