MARS: before the storm. an rp.

story: People wonder how aliens look, if they are tall, skinny, and have big heads, or reptiloid, with wings and claws. but there is another mystery: is, or was, there ever life on mars? if so, what happened to it? what did they look like, their flora, fauna, and sentient beings? well, here's the truth, the horribly shocking truth: mars did have life. they looked like us, except for big differences, they had control over the elements of Fire, Earth, Water, Electricity, Air, and Metal. this is the story of the before time, before the storm of flames, before humans had guns, before science on earth. this is Torkalta, which is ancient Martian for Mars.


Technology: Mars had/has a multitude of technologies, lasers, droids, artificial limbs, and other stuff. but many prefer swords, flails, shields, and regular guns instead of the newer technologies.

Names: common martian names included Joen, Norcel, Balt, Quezal, Anubs, Toth, Odn, Zuse, and many other names. infact, they had some names common on earth, but not as common on mars, King Robert was a famous martian king who was the first to have the name robert.

Government: Mars was kind of a monarchy, but also somewhat of a democracy. The king made all final decisions, but the people voted on laws. the council proposed laws, and the king chose the winning law. but the king has 50% power, the council 40%, and 10% to the people.

Religion: Martians have a pantheon of 7 gods: Trir, god of fire. Galf, god of ice. Tora, god of the ground. gaeryth, the god of wind.m Fures the god of metal. Tortch, god of thunder, and his trin Torsa, god of lightning.

more info: he was a prince of mars, but because he had pity on a thief named Deija, he was cast out. he now wanders from city to city, aiming to get back into the throne.

Jex walked into the city of Narcele, the factory city. he looked around and saw smog in the sky, factories all around him, small shops here and there, and various Apartment complexes. He watched as a group of girls who looked around 16 walk into a shop that seemed to sell monquads, which were small, furry, 4-armed primates that resembled earth's monkeys. he looked to his left and sprang into action, for he saw a woman was being mugged by an iron element, jex jumped into the air with unbelievably perfect acrobatic ability and unsheathed his scimitar, which he brought down on the man's arm, "you, you're the reason that the poor are given a bad name" jex says, he felt bad hough. he had once known a thief, but all she stole was a piece of fruit from a small shop. but she never mugged anyone. jex watched as the man fell to the ground, grabbing the bleeding stub that once was his arm, the man screamed. Jex grabbed a small pouch and gave it to the lady who the man robbed. before he could speak though, he saw police coming toward him.

more info: After being separated from her friends and everything she loved by an evil man and losing her memories about them .She wandered alone for a while and then found her master deep in a dark forest, he showed her the art of using silver strings to defend herself, sharp strings invisible to the naked eye that bind enemies and can break through armor. After learning from him and mastering the techiniques, he gave her a title : "The Pierced Butterfly", in memory of her outfit of a butterfly pierced by a rose. She decided to go on a quest to find her lost memories, and maybe meet someone new in the way. 


Lavender walked into Narcele, she was tired from the long journey. "What would I give for a bath right now...", she sighed and continued forward. Suddenly she heard shouts and footsteps, she glanced over at a man, holding a pouch and looking towards the noises. Sudden images struck her mind, he seemed somehow familiar. A sharp pain then invaded her and she placed a hand on her forehead. "Ah..", she whispered, closing her eyes. "Its happening again".

She turned around and walked away, "I need to find an inn before I collapse...". She gave one final glance at the man, "It must be my imagination".

jex ran forward, into an apartment complex. he launched himself into a room, he was lucky. it was completely empty except for a holo screen projector. he looked on the floor. on the floor was a brown loak, complete with a hood. he was going to use it as a bed for tonigh, he would go to the next city tomorrow.

Weapon: Kunai and Shurikens, small blades like that.
element:  Earth.
eye color:  Purple.
Hair color:  A blood red colour.
more info:  A hired assassin who always gets his target, and is well known throughout Mars. Is usually hired to take out highly powered targets eg- royalty, but will take on any target, as long as it is in his intrests.  Also, at times can have a drinking problem.

Is the last words that Namca's target had heard before a kunai was thrown directly into his heart.
'Poor bastard. Ah well, at least that's one piece of scum off the streets.'  With this, Namca had dissapeared into the night and onto the rooftops to collect his payment.

Jex wakes up, he had had a nightmare. a terrible nightmare. in his dream, his twin brother had encounteed him, theyy were inside a temple. Runose was saying that he needed to bring jex into royal authorities, so that runose could be king. jex had been dissapointed in this dream, his brother and him had shared many great memories. he then heard noises outside, "by the black void of farx" he mutters, he walks to the balcony, looks out the window, and sees that someone had been killed.

She laid down finally on the bed, tired. Sighing* she looked out the window, the skies were full of  dark clouds. "Rain, so soon?", she wondered. She was about to close her eyes when she heard the noise, faint cries.

Stretching she got up and picked up her bag. He warned me about this, a place that is never safe. Carefully she opened it and took out a small letter, it read "Downtown".

"And there I go", she muttered. "And just when I was about to lie down...". She took off in the direction of the noise.
