Finished my architectural rendering assignment at school today, not completely happy with the lighting, but its close enough.

See it in it's full detail by clicking on the image on its deviant art page Here.

Pretty darn good!  The lighting is mostly nice.  I have a few comments:

1.  The fridge doesn't seem to match the rest of the room.  It's both the only chrome and the only thing with rounded edges in the whole picture.

2.  I'm guessing you wanted the sun to be behind tinted glass, right?  Is tinted glass used in homes   Wink?  All kidding aside makes the room look like it's at dusk (I thought it was the moon at first).  It even, perhaps, makes the room look a little spooky.  Tinted glass usually throws red shadows in my experience as well.

3.  I'm concerned about the light bloom on the floor behind those stool legs.  It'd have to be an awfully bright light to bloom enough to make the leg shadows invisible at their base, I think.

This is a room where the bloom is occluding some of the shadows being cast around the window.  Take note of how blown out the light is from the window:

Sort of reversed here, with the darkest shadow closest to the chair leg and getting slightly bright as the shadow is cast into the room:

What render options did you use on this picture?

Not sure if this is fixable or not, but personally i find that the perspective of the room is different to the angle of the background. It looks as if the room is slightly tilted backwards, looking uphill in a sense...Is it just me or does anyone else feel this? I could be wrong. Im a little inebriated.

It seems more noticable in the hi res version.

Firstly, rad, I finally get some feedback Tongue

Lol, most people love the fridge, I used crome on it because there are actually a lot of other ojects with chrome on them, however the handles and table legs went really dull after the lighting rig was fixed up.

I glass wasn't actually tinted, it was just a present glass texture basically in max, the lighting along with the shadows was having some weird problems penetrating the glass at some points, I really didn't even notice Tongue .

Yeah I always knew that was there, but by the end I had had enough of messing with the lightign to really bother with it. If I turned down the glossiness on the floor texture the quality went way down for some reason. Sad

As in?
Do you mean things like global illumination and caustics and what not?

As for the perspective of the background, I would have never picked that up in a million years, thanks for that. I really was just worried about getting that in there to have something instead of blackness. I really hope I can remember things like that if I get into hte industry :S
I hope I can count on you guys in the fututre for feedback on the short film that Im involved in at school. Cheesy
