Hey Brackenwood peeps. I was reffered here by a friend and noticed some really excellent work on these boards.

I'm hoping I can get some mean crits on what I have to show. I've been actively painting in photoshop for two years, been drawing for much longer. Currently a sophomore animation student.

Anyhow, here's some random illustrations. Some are old, some are quite new. The speed paintings are generally a little older as I used to not ever finish my work :p

The more recent stuff i've done is in the form of some actual Conceptart for a Total Conversion of Quake Wars: Enemy Territory.
The projects name is tribal wars, and its based on an old FPS called Starsiege Tribes. Our website is www.twars.org I'll post it chronologically

Concepts for our First map, Chthonic, which is currently largely playable.

Building assets for our much smaller Snow map. We just got started on this.

Anyhow, that basically wraps things up. I'd appreciate harsh ass crits, so be unrelenting. Will post more,

Some nice work here, hope you stick around =]
One of your weaknesses right now are your values, you need to utilize a fuller ranger so the silhouettes of each object pop out more.
I think your foreground/background values aren't contrasting enough, so they kind of stay in the same valuerange.
Just look at your images in black and white and compare that to a similair photograph, and you'll notice the areas that are off.

Hey welcome to the forums, ya got some pretty impressive work here already. I agree with rubber on the tonal values thing, but to me the biggest weakness at the moment is the character poses- they all seem quite rigid, not enough 'swoosh' to some of them. you need to think more about your action lines. I think one of the best ways to loosen up and make your drawings more dynamic is to do some speed sketches (about 20-30 secs each) of the human form

Midterms are finally over, so I can start fooling around now.

Thanks for the comments you two, I'll find a few related assignments on CA and post them here when I'm done.
