Great thanks, how about you?
I'm actually sitting on a big ol' stack of work right now that I'll post when i overcome my crippling laziness, but for now I'll just post some recent doodles from 'iscribble'

its a neat little site, but unfortunately beset on all sides by rabid anime fans. for anyone who cares my user is 'Touchwood' I kinda prefer it to OC, mostly because it caters to my short attention span and slavish devotion to convenience. Also in another incredible feat of sheer bone idolness and so i don't have to spam everybody's sketchbook's individually: You guys Rock, i envy you all!

i envy you man.  your brushwork is really really nice. i have a bad habit of blending things too much.  could learn a thing or two from watching you for sure tho.
your sketches are awesome too.  more full bodied ones!

wowwza i just love your style, you get some damn nice effects with it
tho for my part, since i love to get lost in details or at least have some rendered out focal points(dont ask me why but i kinda need that xD ) i miss the definition in some parts...you get the overall voulmes right, your shapes are in place and believable, your choice of colors looks good and you have rly nice design ideas!
maybe you just dont want to go into detail, hmm maybe you get some better visual effects by staying that rough, implying details through texture? like the brushwork on that first robot's helmet...hmm idk why dont u tell me where u wanna go style wise or art wise?!

greetings my friend, glad to see you posting again ^^

Thanks dude, Yeah you're definitely right about the focal points thing, You know me- I tend to do lots of quick studies looking at a small area, so I've been kind of neglecting that aspect of my work up until now (just been trying to gain some level of competency with light and shading first). I am loving the texture's you get painting traditionally though- just got an 'Ashley Wood' book so I think thats coming through with a lot of this more recent stuff. I think you gotta keep it rough to a certain degree to keep the energy in a painting, I like seeing the brush strokes. Otherwise what's the point, you might as well just take a photograph.
I think the problem for me was, for a long time was that the only exposure to art i really had was either concept art, comic book type stuff or Fine art at school (which I always found inaccessible). Now I'm leaning more towards illustration freelance, because it's somewhere in the middle: you can use expressionistic techniques and style, but I've always loved the idea of telling stories through image, plus it ties in pretty well with other art forms like books, music ect which are an ever increasing source of inspiration for me.

yeah maybe its not th brushwork or the missing details thats missing to me, it became obvious as i took another glimpse at that robo helmet that i like quite alot, i also checked ashley wood's stuff, i think it is the way you work with edges and the overall form, it just looks that at some points there is too few information given to the eye concerning either details or the overall form. i love obvious brushwork too! and i didnt mean rendering everything out to perfection so it looks like a photograph...in a painting everything is possible, in a photograph youre somewhat limited, if you dont add some manipulation to it.

yeah i know you and i know how you feel about details and having that rough style (which i rly like), was just an idea i had looking at your work ^^
i think the same way with keeping it rough to a certain degree, but i think everything has to fulfill a certain function in a painting, tho i am a person who likes to get lost in details and loves to render out stuff and all that, but thats somewhat artistic personality i guess.

seems like illustration looks like a good field for you, tho the question is if your style meets the contemporary illustrational style, isnt it?! i could see you as a concept artist, painter and maybe comic artist, but im not sure about your linework, but maybe youll get up a whole new style of comic books with that kinda style all over the book ^^

just thought u might try some details out some time Wink  anyways cant wait to see some more of your stuff buddy

I really enjoy your stuff and find it very unique. What made you chose to do heavily textured pencil and brushwork?

comments appreciated as always. @ Twindragon- my laptop was broken for a few months so i couldn't use the tablet, started to enjoy working with traditional a bit more.

Big ass post- mostly just sketches and doodles I had lying around, quantity over quality with this one I'm afraid:

thanks dude, although i will admit most of my ideas right now are coming from an unhealthy fan worship of the bioshock universe ( i am as we speak signing the papers to officially marry that game). More shtuff before nap time-

OK now I officially have to stop before my hand falls off
