You have done a very well job of using abstract shapes to create a city scape. Smoky illusions giving it mystery and depth. A great job on the cools of the city and the instant eye grabber of the warm colored female character. Textures on the buildings are very ambient and give movement to the eyes. You have won this comp hands down.
Tack these compatitions are a great way to learn. I participated in them many times as i was learning. So some crits to help you on your next one. This image is very flat. It lacks depth. By that i mean that most of your elements in your image feel like they are on the same level. Dont be afraid to go darker in your shadows. With such a strong light source your shadows will only become darker. Use contours as you start to learn to make your images feel more 3d. Even just sketching these can help your mind visually view something in 3d form. Things that i think your doing good with are the textures. Your using textures very well! I also notice that you fade back to a perspective and everything gets blurry and less defined like in real life! Great job on that keep expierment with it. Dont take this as me being rude. There are no feelings behind this just someone telling you what they see. Until you let go of your feelings of being told whats wrong with something you wont improve. Think of it like star wars. A jedi - Zen
Sith - irrational and unpridictible. Just feel the zen of the art!
