I get more comments on NG than in this forum, isn't that silly?

oh man loath its not about getting many many replies, its about to present your art to us,if you think somethings wrong with it you may ask for critique but its just sometimes that people dont have the time and then forget about it or dont see anything to crit on....
and posts like "its okay" or "good job" are somewhat senseless...not at newgrounds where everyone just posts what comes to his or her mind...(let me remind you to the numerous threads where people draw penises in paint and others reply how Aw3sUm it is

why dont you stop complaining and just continue improving and posting...lol i dont remember how often i posted new stuff till one person replied or so(my record is like 5 posts or so, then one reply and then again long time no reply) but thats totally normal, i wouldnt want people just to write some half hearted stuff, and if noone replies, the pic was just nothing special, then i think about the why, try to critizise the pic by myself or head on to the next one
although i always wanted critiques(i longed for them)...
but  always writing that nobody replies doesnt help either, would you want to post in a thread where someone writes "why does nobody repliy" "dont you like my stuff?" "again no reply" "on that other page they love my stuff and reply more often"...what would u think if u read stuff like that?

i know how excited you are about your art and posting it and getting feedback or thoughts or crits, but you have to realize that even though you drew a pic thats really important to you personally, actually they all are kinda, coz u created them, you put your personality and feelings in it and precious time, its just that sometimes most people doesnt see it...or you got so over excited about it that for people who dont have that connection to the pic, its nothing special...

i know what im talking about, im drawing alot of crap, even pics that take days coz i really loved them got barely any attention, i posted alot of stuff and here and there i got replies...although i was hoping for more...be thankful if somebody replies except saying "what only one reply? come on" or so, go ahead, get motivated and think that one day youre good enough that everyone hopes to be able to take a glimpse at that masterpiece...how can you achieve it? DRAW...i didnt hear of people yet, who got famous by complaining about too few replies to their posts...

hope you dont take this as an offense, i just noticed that you want many replies and get down when you dont get them...and wanted to tell you how i think about it...

What the hell are you talking about?
The scouts lasts forever. I've been scouted for weeks, by the same person.

They last forever only if your sponsor is not unscouted. Happened to me twice so far.

This time I'm scouted by jagondudo, who I think is probably someone from this forum... I'm not sure who, though.

I completely agree with you Katata.  I've noticed this from a select few people here on this forum.  All it takes is patience ANYWHERE to be able to get what you want to hear, or don't want to hear.

It may seem at the moment that nobody is critiquing right away.  But it's probably because they have other priorities and reasons why they are on the forum in the first place, so getting around to actually critiquing other people's art takes time.  Trust me, you'll get your critiques, just not as soon as you post your art.  It's pretty ridiculous to expect that out of people.

Whenever I post my stuff, I don't expect anything from anyone.  Even though I'd like critiques, I don't expect to get them right when I post.  It could take weeks, possibly months and if that's not enough time for you to learn from other people's opinions, then you sure don't have the dedication to improve.

Please don't assume things about me, you don't really know me, thanks.

I'm just saying that I get a lot more feedback at other places for some reason. At The Back Alleys I always get feedback and on DA I get a lot of feedback so when I come to a forum when I get no replies, it aren't much of a motivation for me to post art if no one has anything to say about it. And I think it's because of the skill level of all people in this forum and how well people know each other.

Adam stopped his blog because he didn't get any comments and he took it like no one watches his stuff. I think the exact same way. It's a lot more motivating to post things if someone has something to say about the art. I'm not saying I MUST get a lot of comments on small pieces but when I post like 5 pieces and get like no comments it's not too motivating.

Thea reason for my post in this thread was cause I find it funny how I get comments on NG where no one knows me than here where I have been member for a long while now. I actually get helping critique on NG, which is quite surprising.

didnt mean to offend you or anything, i just told you how i thought about the situation and tried to encourage you to keep at it

this forum isnt about skills or knowing people, when i started posting here i didnt know anybody, my skill level was below zero...this forums is also not that crowded like deviant art or newgrounds, its more familiar and relaxed..
btw if YOU would want people to get to know you better, there are various options like posting your msn at the speedpainting thread or pms or many other ways...

I'm sorry for the slightly aggressive reply, I was stressed with packing cause I was heading to Norway within 30 minutes and I had my parents, my kiddo cousin nagging at me on number of things.

Anyhow, I think people got me wrong about the comment stuff. It's not a big deal, I just found it interesting somehow. I'm not really much of an attention whore even if it seems like I am.

Eh, I don't suppose someone could scout me again? There was a "reset" for the portal many months ago, and nobody got around to rescouting me after that. Now I can't post any new artwork there because my "unscouted limit has been exceeded".

Judging by quality of the artwork on the front page of the art portal (for example, masterpieces like this), it's not a quality issue, but probably a "not knowing the right clique of people" issue.
