I really like the brush patterns, Tom. Especially for the radiation emitting from the rod.

Super, I've allways wondered, is the scratchyness is a stylistic choice or something that just happens naturally?

i'd say its probably a mix of both- ive always liked stuff to look 'painted' so to speak- im not one for photo realism. But i think largely its just a result of my natural lack of patience and messy style coupled with the software ive got to work with.

oh my goodness tom :| thats incredibly awesome i love the contrast between the red and the blue, it really pops very well shaded too, some more detailing here and there would make it even more awesome but i guess you dont have the patience to work too long on the same pic anyways i foresee a great future as a concept artist if you keep improving like that!!! very very very nice work, wanna see moar greetz mate

Couldn't agree more I'll get my SB back in place sometime in the future, let's get this thread off the ground first. Made a custom artists-oils brush in Painter X (based of "tapering oils"), fun to paint with, my only gripe is that it tends to shows a "stepping" effect when you use it with presure enabled opacity.

I love it! The lines are so beautifully loose, but not messy. Makes me want to grab my oils and go crazy.

Something I did for the Style-Me-Up stuff on DeviantArt; other than the legs and feet, I really like it.
