Daily 3D Model
« on: September 30, 2008, 09:48:03 PM »

I felt there needs to be a third dimension added to the forum and until a new section gets made for 3d stuff,  Post your 3d models here! anything goes as long as its 3 dimensional c:

it doesn’t have to be a 3d model made in a 3d app either, sculptures/stop motion models are welcome here too!.

there are plenty of free applications around even from the big companies themselves

Free Modelling programs

Gmax http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax  - Autodesks Free software version of 3ds Max (you have to fill a form to get the serial code, there is no cost what so ever.) no support is provided by autodesk any more and I believe there isn’t a render function.

Maya PLE http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/mform?siteID=123112&id=9432085 (you have to fill a form to get the download, there is no cost what so ever.) Program adds a logo over your render.

Blender  http://www.blender.org/ program has a complex user interface but people have been able to make some pretty impressive stuff with it.

So lets get this rolling

I've posted this in my sketchbook topic already but I'll post my models in this topic from now. its a model of a dragons head from Panzer Dragoon Saga.

This is a 3d rotation of the model.

Going to stick each bit into a model sculpting program so I can make it all high resolution... not as high as the picture though because that alone was 300,000 virts.

If I've posted this in the wrong place or the topic has already been posted then I apologise c:

:D Yeah, nice idea man. Thing is I do A LOT of test animations using particles and reactor, so there arent a lot of finished things for me to show :P

Anyway, you can see a finished animation from my Cert II course below.

great stuff! I really fail on the 3d animation side of things, if I was ever to have a job in 3d it would in the modeling side of things... I find it so much fun. Preferably I'd want a 2d animation job though lol.
